At the request of New York 811’s executive director, OCC developed a public-facing online dashboard that displays a range of ticket volume data, including a heat map. In addition to generating public interest, this innovative tool is displayed on the center’s TV screens and website.
With the goal of providing facility operators with the ability to investigate job sites for potentially missed markouts, the New York 811 board collaborated with OCC to develop a new ticket header that notifies members of excavation work where it appears lines have not been marked. This tool has been valuable in preventing damages and increasing communication to all stakeholders.
New York 811’s VR-X-SIM applies virtual reality technology to underground utility damage prevention training. New York 811 worked with OCC to create a sandbox database that allows users to create tickets, review positive response statuses, and operate virtually “excavate” without damaging lines.
